Kurtiss Riggs is the owner of Riggs Premier Football and the Director of the Sanford POWER Football Academy. He has extensive experience playing and coaching at the high school, college and professional levels.
At USF, Riggs played four sports (football, basketball, baseball, track) and led the Cougars to the program's first-ever NAIA national football crown in 1996. A native of Green River, Wyo., Riggs is one of four USF individuals inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame. In his final two seasons, Riggs amassed a 25-1 record as the Cougars’ starting quarterback. He set NAIA records for TD passes in a season (55), most passes without an interception (290), lowest interception percentage (.75%). At USF, Riggs established records including single season marks in 1996 including passing yards (3,993), completions (265), TD passes (55), as well as single game passing marks of (457 yards) completions (30) and TDs (8). In 1996, he led USF to the school’s first national title, which was the first national crown by any football playing college in South Dakota. He was first team All-SDIC and the SDIC Player of the Year in 1995. In 1996, he earned first team NAIA All-American honors. After leaving USF, he played professionally in Europe and numerous indoor leagues.

Riggs attended the University of Sioux Falls and set numerous conference and national passing records while playing there. After winning a National Championship and earning National Player of the Year in 1996, Riggs went on to play professionally in Europe and in several indoor leagues.
Riggs started his coaching career at Sioux Falls (SD) Roosevelt High School in 1998, and returned to coach quarterbacks at USF from 2005-2009 under Head Coach Kalen DeBoer. While at USF, two of Riggs' quarterbacks (Chad Cavender, 2006; Lorenzo Brown, 2008) were named National Players of the Year, the team compiled a record of 69-3, and USF won three National Championships. Riggs was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in January, 2013, and he was inducted into the USF Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2013.
Riggs started his coaching duties for the Sioux Falls Storm in 2001 as the Offensive Coordinator. He just completed his fifteenth year as Head Coach, and under his leadership, the Storm have won ten national championships from 2005-2016. During his tenure as Head Coach, Riggs has been named Coach of the Year four times (including 2015), led the Storm to back-to-back undefeated seasons in 2006 and 2007 and an undefeated season in 2015, and has compiled a career record of 216-37.
In addition to running the football academy and coaching the Storm, Coach Riggs also serves as adjunct faculty teaching courses in Sociology, Psychology, and Exercise Science at the University of Sioux Falls. He and his wife, Leisa, live in Sioux Falls with their two children, Peyton and Afton.
